About

Although Wafi Surf represents friends, who share the love for surfing, the blog is written by two best friends Anne-Mai and Triin.

Anne-Mai is a mother of two and a purchasing manager. Got sick wasting time on the beach and watching friends kitesurfing, so decided to try it out herself. She took her first lesson in Tarifa, Spain.

Triin is a mother of two and a PR consultant. Although took her first kitesurfing course in Tallinn, Estonia, she learnt to kitesurf in Santa Pola, Spain.

It is a coincidence that we learnt to kitesurf in the same country, but taking a look at our history, it’s actually no wonder. We have known each other around 20 years and have always shared the passion for sports. We got to know each other in track and field trainings and since then we have tried out different things  – tennis, rogain, adventure sports, surfing, etc. As much as we love sports, we love travelling and discovering new things.

Once we had decided that we are going to be IKO instructors, we decided to start blogging about our journey of becoming instructors and our everyday kiting and travelling experience. Our desire is to inspire women to kitesurf and share our passion for the sea and surfing.

From our blog you will find:

  • impressions about our transition from amateur kiters to instructors;
  • tips about our kiting trips;
  • information about kiting spots and conditions in Estonia (the hidden gem!);
  • experience from our daily surfing and progress as kiters.

We hope that our blog inspires you to learn kitesurfing or even becoming an instructor, and Estonia would become known as a good kiting spot. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us!
